I am so excited about today’s next song reveal on the Time After Time Playlist Blog Hop. Two weeks ago, Jessica Love shared her pick from Bennett’s playlist, and today, Jen from A Book and a Latte is unveiling her favorite from Anna’s.
Today’s song is one of my all-time favorites. The iconic album came out in June 1995, and I’ve listened to it from beginning to end more times than I can count! After Justin pushed this CD into Anna’s hands in Time Between Us, I’m pretty sure she went home, played it, and fell in love with this song just like I did. It sets a perfect tone for Time After Time.
If you don’t know what it is yet, pop on over to A Book and a Latte, hear what Jen has to say about it, and and then come back to hear more of my thoughts about the always awesome, Jen!
I remember the day Jen and I started following each other on Twitter. I think she was my 100th follower or something — it seemed especially memorable. Or maybe it was just because she thanked me for following her and I thought that was classy. Anyway… like the song she chose, Jen left an impression on me from day one.
We finally met in person during BEA last year at the YA Author/Blogger rooftop party, and once the two of us started talking I don’t think we ever stopped. We liked a lot of the same books. We both enjoyed live music. Jen is a photographer and so is my husband, so we talked a lot about that, too.
In the months that followed, we stayed in touch online. She read the advance copy of Time Between Us, shared her thoughts with me, and we had a great discussion about time travel (Jen’s an engineer and a big thinker. I appreciated that discussion more than she probably knew). I started reading her reviews and adding the books she liked to my wish list. We talked about writing process and she was kind enough to include me in her How I Write feature. She lives in Colorado and we somehow started talking about going to concerts Red Rocks (I’ve never seen a show there, but I’ve always wanted to) and that discussion came to mind when I was writing Time After Time (you’ll see…).
I got to hang out with Jen again a few months ago at the RT Convention in Kansas City. And now I’m kicking myself for not taking a picture of the two of us together! What was I thinking?
Anyway, I like genuinely nice people and Jen is certainly one. So thank you, Jen, for being one of the first bloggers I ever met and for leaving such a lasting impression. And thanks for participating in The Hop and for choosing one of my all-time favorite songs by one of my all-time favorite artists!
